Muddy River Marathon
The course highlights many landmarks in Cape Girardeau including the Bill Emerson Bridge, Common Pleas Courthouse, Dalhousie Golf Course, Old St. Vincent's Church and more, as well as finishing along the Missouri Wall of Fame Mural. The course is relatively flat utilizing roadways and paved trails.

Join us in Cape Girardeau, Missouri for the 2nd Annual Muddy River Marathon. Our community is dedicated to providing an exceptional experience and warm hospitality to all visitors! You will run through a picturesque downtown, spectacular natural vistas and quaint neighborhoods. Once you cross the finish line, we will have a party with live music, food trucks and a beer garden waiting for you! Our community also offers a wide range of dining, shopping, sightseeing and entertianment options for you and your friends and family. We encourage you to make a weekend of it!
Like the current of a river, long-distance runners are strong and swift. “Run Like the River” is meant to inspire the runners and conjure up thoughts of the Mississippi, overlooking which they’ll begin and end their race.
2022's race theme, "Run Like the River", will be brought to life in race swag, finisher medals, entertainment and more.
Muddy River Marathon is happy to share that in 2021 we donated $22,000 to the Community Partnership of Southeast Missouri. We also actively contribute to other regional charities.
